Ph.d. student Anders Bank Blichfeld has returned to Aarhus University after a four-and-half-month stay at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, USA, where he visited ass. prof. Eric Toberer and his group.

During his stay, Anders worked on a wet synthesis of a guest free Ge type-II clathrate. Allotropes of Ge can have another bandgap than the normal diamond phase, and hence is interesting for the use in photovoltaics.

The acquired set of skills can accompany Anders in his future work in the CMC group.
