The course consists of 4 modules; the first module begins on September 3rd. Participation in the course is free of charge for AU researchers and, in addition, you will get a set of course books and CDs for attending this course.

The main focus is on helping you achieve oral language competence - understanding a simple conversation in Chinese and speaking simple Chinese.

The course is composed of three modules. Module 1 is aimed at language beginners, who have no/little knowledge of Chinese language.  In the first module, we will emphasize basic pronunciation exercises and practical language use: greeting and self-presentation.

The deadlines for sign-up are:

Module 1: September 2nd

Module 2: September 30th

Module 3: November 11th.
