Chinese Language Courses for AU Staff

If you are going to China or simply working with Chinese people here in Denmark, this may be the course for you

Aarhus University offers Chinese language courses for researchers and staff working af Aarhus University.

The next module 1 course will begin on the 18th of February 2013.

Attendance is free of charge, and participants will get a set of course books and CDs.

The courses are setup with realistic goals. It is not expected that you will be able to write Chinese scripts when you are done. The main focus is on helping participants achieve oral language competence, understanding a simple conversation in Chinese, and expressing themselves in simple Chinese.

The course is composed of four modules.

  • Module 1: is aimed at language beginners, who have no/little knowledge of the Chinese language. In module 1 basic pronunciation exercises and practical language use such as greeting and self-presentation will be emphasized.
  • Module 2: is aimed at people who have some basic knowledge of Chinese and who have already had 10 hours of courses.
  • Module 3: is the continuation of module 2. It is mainly for participants who have learned Chinese for more than 20 hours. Oral competence is emphasized in M3 as well.
  • Module 4: is aimed at students who have followed modules 1 through 3. It is a consolidation session, primarily based on 'language in use', with various themes in focus.
