CMC student receives Villum Foundation postdoc grant

Ph. D. student Kirsten Marie Ø. Jensen

CMC Ph.D. student Kirsten Marie Ø. Jensen has been awarded a Young Researcher postdoc grant from the Villum Foundation. The post-doctorate will take her to Columbia University and the group of prof. Simon Billinge for a period of two years, starting October 1st 2013. Kirsten has previously spent several months at Columbia during her Ph.D. education, as part of a growing collaboration between CMC and prof. Billinge's research group. She has now been given the opportunity to continue that work under the project title "Position dependent total scattering studies of nanoscale structure-property relationships in functional materials".

Kirsten is currently finishing her ph.d. thesis at CMC-Aarhus where she has been working with in situ ("live") studies of nanoparticle formation, observed via X-ray scattering methods.
