CMC has purchased a new analyzer for quantitative analysis of the elements Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen and Sulfur.

The analyzer will complete the suite of elemental analyzers already possessed by the centre, namely the Xepos-II X-ray spectrometer and the Arcos ICP-OES analyzer.

Between the three instruments, the only element remaining "out of reach" is Fluorine, which for chemical and technical reasons is hard to detect.
