New video: CORC CO2 Research Talks: Frauke Kracke
Watch or rewatch the November version of CORC CO2 Research Talks now online! Frauke Kracke: "Scaling durable carbon removal - examples from early deployments".
Abstract:
Durable carbon removal can be achieved via a variety of approaches: From direct air capture, over bioenergy and storage approaches, to ocean alkalinity enhancement and enhanced rock weathering. To achieve climate relevant scales, it is important that these approaches can be deployed fast and cost effective, while minimizing ecosystem risks or posing strain on raw materials, industrial supply chains, or energy networks.
In this talk, I will introduce a few promising projects from Frontiers portfolio and share insights from the journey of bringing novel technology from lab to field. For each pathway, I will highlight key research gaps that need further investigation to unlock the full potential of carbon removal.
