START – GFI Workshop on Future of Alternative Proteins 5/11

START invites you to a full-day workshop about the future of alternative protein research in Denmark and funding opportunities - 5 November 2025.

Join a full-day workshop dedicated to advancing the Danish alternative protein research community. The event is hosted by START and the Good Food Institute (GFI) and will bring together researchers, innovators, and funding experts to explore strategic directions and funding opportunities for alternative proteins produced via cellular systems—such as Precision Fermentation, Cell Culture, and Microbial Fermentation.

The workshop is designed to strengthen Denmark’s alternative protein research community and lay the foundation for ambitious, interdisciplinary proposals. Together, experts from START and the Good Food Institute (GFI) will explore strategic solutions and collaboration opportunities, but also upcoming funding calls, including the Danish Centres of Excellence (Feb 2026), Innovation Fund Denmark, Horizon Europe, and more funding opportunities.

The workshop is run by START researchers - Timothy Hobley (DTU), Jette Young (AU) and  Mette Lübeck (AU). The workshop will also be a follow-up on the AltProteinX-konference 2025 . The aim is to shape the future of alternative protein research in Denmark.
