Student Assistant Opportunity: Help Coordinate Denmark’s Student Satellite Program (DISCO)
Are you interested in space, innovation, and student-driven projects? Aarhus University is now offering an exciting opportunity for a student assistant to take on a key coordinating role in The Danish Student CubeSat Program (DISCO).
A central role in a national space program
As student coordinator, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day activities of DISCO at Aarhus University. You will act as a link between student teams working on satellite projects and the broader organisational and external collaborations surrounding the programme.
The role includes coordinating student groups, supporting recruitment of new participants, organising meetings and events, and contributing to communication and visibility efforts. You will also help plan and run activities such as hackathons, summer schools, and collaborative events with companies and startups.
About DISCO
The Danish Student CubeSat Program (DISCO) is a national, student-driven satellite programme where students design, build, and operate real satellites. The programme combines education, research, and innovation, offering participants hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of a space mission—from system design and software to mission operations and data analysis.
DISCO is developed in close collaboration with Danish industry and international partners, and it places strong emphasis on both technical skills and entrepreneurship. Two satellites have already been successfully developed and launched, with additional missions currently in development.
The programme also provides a unique interdisciplinary platform, bringing together students from a wide range of academic backgrounds.
