The 13th European Powder Diffraction Conference (EPDIC13), 2012 in Grenoble, France

EPDIC13

CMC-AU ph.d. students Sofie Kastbjerg, Christoffer Tyrsted, Espen Drath Bøjesen, Niels Bindzus, and Kirsten Marie Ørnsbjerg Jensen are attending the 13th European Powder DIffraction Conference (EPDIC13) in Grenoble, France.

Joining them are CMC director Bo Brummerstedt Iversen, CMC ass. prof. Mogens Christensen and Torben René Jensen, and CMC post doc Nina Lock.

Bo B. Iversen is invited for a special plenary talk.

The following presentations will be held:

Talks (links to abstracts included when available):

  • Bo B. Iversen: “Charge density analysis via powder diffraction”, abstract
  • Kirsten M. Ø. Jensen: “Mechanisms of SnO2 nanoparticle formation: An in situ total scattering study”, abstract
  • Torben R. Jensen: “New materials for hydrogen storage”, abstract

Posters:

  • Sofie Kastbjerg: “The crystallography of lead chalcogenides”
  • Christoffer Tyrsted: “Understanding the supercritical synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles”
  • Niels Bindzus: “MEM charge densities based on structure factor extraction with the commonly used Rietveld refinement programs Jana2006, GSAS, and FullProf”
  • Espen D. Bøjesen: “Elucidating the influence of various salts on the growth of ZnO nanoparticles”
  • Nina Lock: “Thermal expansion in metal-organic frameworks”
  • Mogens Christensen: “Instrument for ESS using neutrons for probing multiple length and time scales”

EPDIC13 is from 28th to 31st of October 2012.

The next EPDIC conference (EPDIC14) will be held in Aarhus from 15th to 18th of June 2014.

EPDIC started in Munich in 1991, intended to be the place where all powder diffractionists, independently of whether they are more interested in the theoretical advances or in the application of the techniques, can meet and exchange ideas and experiences.
